Let's see, so I've been hanging out somewhat with the SJEC ppl this year. They're cool, but I feel so disconnected from campus life and stuff now. Guess I'm getting old. On the other hand, I have gotten a chance to reconnect with a friend of mine who's involved with the club that I haven't really talked to in a while, so that's nice.
I just found out that a co-worker of mine has the same birthday as I do. Crazy. That makes the 2nd person from Stanford that I know with my birthday. 3rd person ever that I've met with my birthday. Pretty awesome. Now I know why I think he's such a cool guy, haha.
I also went to Tahoe with a bunch of friends this weekend (I just got back tonight). It was pretty awesome to hang out there. I didn't go skiing or anything. In a weird coincidence, the SJEC kids were up there this weekend, too. And they were like 10 mins away from where we were. So while everyone was skiing, I went to hang out at their house with that same aforementiened friend (who also didn't ski) and watch TV.
So this coming week, there are some big things happening. On Tuesday, I'm going to a conference in the City for one of the clients that I work for at my job. I'm going to learn about their sales pitch and stuff and help them out there. Following that, next weekend, I'm going to be going up to Seattle for that same company for another conference. This time, I'm going to be going alone. YIKES. I'm somewhat uneasy about it, hell, who am I kidding, scared shitless, but I think that this is exactly the kind of thing that I need to really challenge myself and break out of my comfort zone. This will be a valuable experience for me, personally and professionally (being able to comfortably and confidently talk to execs will help me a lot, I know it).
Here's to the neverending journey to make a better person of myself.
I also want to see Black Snake Moan at some point. And Reno 911. Should be good.
PS: I know that I said that I'm going to write about my job, but I'll write it later. tired.
